MC40 Registry

1,000 of us and I know only where #2 is and have only met another, redecorated one at MOT. There were like six in the Prestige MINI lot, yet undelivered, when I brought mine back via flatbed the day after my botched delivery/JCWE install. I saw two at New Country, undelivered as well. Prestige is handing out a few of theirs as loaners.

But that does not add up to 1,000. And I'm VERY interested to keep together with those that share the joy of MC40 ownership. Please tell your MC40 owning friends to chime in and post a pic.

Please see MINI2 thread as well.

Che • MC40 #995 • Built 5.28.04 • Delivered 9.17.05 • Current Miles: 21,000 • Original Badging

JCWed at delivery, Magnaflow exaust, yellow duckie on antenna.

Hi

An MC40 Registry already exists. See http://www.mc40.com/ I think they found about 60 cars. There are a handful on MINI2 and a very small handful active in the OL. There was one very nice one being sold here the other day. See http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ight=mc40+sale

You might also want to look at http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...chmentid=56207 where Business thinks its collectible vice, for example, Boxsters because Porsche makes too many.

Thank you for pointing those out to me. I registered at the website, too. Neato. I wish they had a bulletin board. :P

cheers!

Also nice to meet you GMINIO.

I would also like to ad that the Detroit Tuned Add in the Vendor section contains a pic of my very own MINI! One Question...Do you have any issues of you #37 magnetic stickers staying attatched to your doors? I'm affraid to drive with them. I dont want to lose them. It just seems like they wont stick as strong as they need to!

Those 37s are merely refrigerator magnets i remove from my refrigerator only for special MINI community occassions. You are absolutely right to doubt their roadworthiness. The dealer told me "not over 50mph", and to me, that means never. And they get creased however I place them in the car. How to decrease them?? dunno.

There was an MC40 parked near me the other day. It was in the parking lot of the Madison Club golf course near New Stanton, PA (outside of Pittsburgh). Not sure who was driving it though. If you were there I was driving the PW/B MC 3 cars down from you!

Mini D. That is one sweet MC-40. I really like the CF interior. Are those the door magnets in the back windows? I also like the red inlay on the interior of the doors. I was thinking of having mine painted red aswell, but not the inside circle. Maybe the interior handle and its surrounding pieces.

The back windows are replicas of the door magnets made out of window tinting. The boot window is tinted in a Union Jack (you can see it behind the pic of the rear seats.) The door panels are red alcantara to match the seat inserts. More carbon is in the works, both with body panels (bonnet, boot lid, and fenders) and custom cryo/N2O bottle holders for the inside of the hatch! I am trying to find someone who can carbon a few engine parts too!

It's a serious addiction!

News on MC40 #2 posted in my picture above. #1 is a show car in some warehouse/museum now. #2 used to belong to FDNYPD, a Motoring Advisor at MINI of Fairdfield County here in CT. He now drives a hyper blue topless S.

A couple of weeks ago I pulled into an icecream parlor parking lot early for an impromptu MINI Icream Social. There was no mini there yet other than the rare sight of another MC40. I saw the checked roof and immediately asked the guy driving if it was #2. Indeed it was, bought from MoFC, sttripped of it's political decorations. timshipper from www.NEMINI.org driving.

Well all we've got is an engraved signature on an easily detachable sliver of a plaque. If you can get all our shifter knobs signed by paddy, you're in. j/k. any person as lucky as you to know the man who made our cars possible has the golden key to this humble lot.

Hey many thanks GMINI, I feel very humble just to have met him. I also saw the great car itself and it lives in a motor heritage museum about an hours drive from me. There is a Mini Show there in a few weeks and as we have a mini company, we have been invited to go along....I hope Paddy will be there  but not sure. He has done a lot of shows this year already.

Phil.

Big welcome, Phil!

Now

Do we all have cloth armrests or is my MC40 really lucky? If we all have them, what about other 04 MCSs?
