Normal Idle Vacuum on R53 at sea level

Normal Idle Vacuum on R53 at sea level

Hi guys,

Trying to find a problem.

What is the normal idle vacuum for our cars?

17-22 in-Hg is about average. What is yours reading?

Dunno. I'm at 1089 ft above sea level. My JCW reads around 12 in. Hg at idle. When it is colder, less. Maybe 10 in. Hg. With Ac on I sit about 8.

I'm suspicious that thepreviouss owner had put a cam in though. Which will lower vacuum.

When engine braking I'll see around 22.

Maybe my car is screwed up. Maybe not. Runs damn good

Mine reads a constant 14.5 - 15.5. I live in FL, so basically sealevel.

Im still trying to figure out the damn boost flutter/boost oacillation at partial throttle.

I believee that's normal. Mine does it. To fix it just push the pedal down more :D

idle for me I think im around 15, coasting im at like 22-24

OK good! I was thinking I was going crazy then.

But I did find some fault codes in my car.

WTF are those?
