I have brought this to the tuner's attention and changed it as instructed.

I have cleaned up the max RPM values across all maps and tuned the fan control per some recommendations.

Any further recommendations would be appreciated.
So you are making changes and modifying the tune you got from your "tuner" ? If that's the case, I'd say that they are not obligated to really help you out any more.....since you are modifying their tune.

No different than someone getting a tune from Jan....playing around with it, and then complaining when he won't fix it for them. Once you touched their tune.....it's your tune.

Sounds like you really don't like this tuner anyway, so why continue to try and work with him?

Almost all of the mods you listed are not power mods. Only the 2% crank pulley and 17% S/C pulley + the tune are power mods in that list, so 180whp sounds pretty normal to me. Why are you running 550cc injectors with that setup? Stock injectors could handle that, let alone 550cc.

Nobody's trying to be hard on you. Here are the facts per you.....

1. You are not happy with your tuner.
2. You modified the tune yourself and now the tuner guy doesn't want to help you out.

How do you want people here on the forum to help you out? You have two options.....play around with your tune some more on your own and see if you can improve it (what software are you using?), or find a better tuner that can fix your tune.

That is not at all what I've read. Stock MCS injectors (330cc) are good to just about 200whp, where you should be swapping up to JCW injectors(380cc) and another tune. 440cc and above is head work territory. Nothing wrong with having 550cc injectors, they're just a waste of money at the level you're at unless you're 100% going to be doing a BVH or something similar in the future.

(which is his job)

At this point I don't expect much help considering everyone keeps reading between the lines coming up with some alternate version of this story which involves me compromising my tune.
Who is everyone? IQ is the only one who mentioned your modified tune. You're in a weird situation because you complain about the tuner continually, yet your question is what power do you think you should be at. I've answered that already. What other help do you want?

If you want a retune, stop working with this guy you dislike and get a remote tune from Jan at RMW or stop by his shop if you're near Irvine, CA.

I thought inconsistent runs were normal for an auto, even if the tuner is familiar with them. It makes it them harder to tune since they want to shift early, inconsistently, and at a lower RPM than they would if they were actually being driven on the street. That's what I've read from the few posts I can find of highly modified R53 auto's.

Ok, I guess we'll wait for ZippyNH to stop by and lay the wisdom upon thee. You wasted $770. Also, I already mentioned THE Mini tuner in my post above.

A few like yourself are the only reason I dont shut down my threads.

I would update my OP but this forum locks it down for review and all that.
This was posted weeks ago and every time I checked it was still not published.

Sounds opinionated.
- ByteTronik FA53 (DIY) are 650-750
- Bosch 550s are 325
Then add a Innovative AFR package to make tuning easier

On that note...
If you spent all that money on ByteTronik Full Access....why are you messing with remote tunes from some tuner you don't even like and hasn't seemed to do a good job for you? Why aren't you using what you paid for.....and tuning the car yourself?

You have ByteTronik Full Access that you paid good money for.....why not tune your own car???

And if the dyno is showing that you are making 180hp, that's probably about close. As far as power adders, all you really have is a pulley....

Note that a good portion of the ByteTronik tuner list is incorrect because most those guys will not touch a MINI.

So I am going to start tuning myself. I already did all the physical work as it is.
ByteTronik and Mynes have been no help too.
They requested everything be sent to them then weeks later told me the tuner needs to do something about it.
So overall I have wasted weeks trying to get someone to do something about it.

Like you said... it is a tool for me to use so I am going to do exactly that.
Good luck. If I were you I'd just sell the ByteTronik and buy the remote tool Jan lists on his website and get a tune from him. He is simply the best.

He is the owner of RevolutionMiniWorks (RMW) in California. You can check around the forums here, most people who get good tunes get them from Jan. Or Way at WayMotorWorks (WMW). RMW also tends to be the source for higher horsepower equipment, such as his big valve head, header, cam, and more. I think he's also going to be introducing a 1.8L stroker kit w/ a Rotrex supercharger here in a bit. That combo is good for ~350whp.

Jan owns RMW, arguably the best MINI tuner and builder in the country. Located in So Cal.
