I'll be ordering an all black S in a couple of weeks. I'm debating if I should order a sunroof or not living here in Florida. I have owned black cars in Florida with Sunroofs in the past, but they have all had sliding panels that have blocked out all the sun unlike the sliding screen with the Mini which only blocks some sun. Should I skip the sunroof on my all black S in Fla? Does anyone in Fla have an all black S or Cooper with a Sunroof that could comment?

I don't have an all black but I do have the sunroof and live in florida. I've had my MCS since June and I didn't have many heat problems. The gear shift knob can get warm but I love the sunroof. I would suggest to get the sunroof and if it gets to hot, gets some better tint.

I suggest you get the sunroof. The glass is tinted, plus the sunshade filters out even more light. Here's mine:

I've only had my MCS a few weeks, but during that time we've had some sunny hot days. I have the sunroof with black roof and have no heat issues. I can't imagine not having the sunroof, but then that's just my preference.

I live in Tampa and have a black top with sunroof. Definitely go for the sunroof. I have had no heat problems and its great this time of year. Like one person said earlier, tint the sunroof darker if you're worried about it.

Good Luck

I would DEFINETLY get the sunroof. Especially having a black roof. 1st, its hardly noticeable against the black roof, and secondly I have heard of some problems with Black Roof MINIs that dont have the sunroof. I have heard owners reporting, that they are finding a creaselike dent on their roof, when its been parked in the sun. It doesnt happen to white roofs, or to ones with a sunroof.
