So it all happen today on the Hwy. Crack car drove fine. when i got to where i was going i saw that the right rear was lower then the left. after taken a look surprise surprise. Broken suspension. Called WMW and place an order for Megan Coilovers. Have a track day next Sunday hopefully it gets here before that. and i can install it.

BC Coilovers with Eibach springs. The guy that sold me the car gave me like 3 other cans don't know if they are blown, but will be trying them out tomorrow until the Megans come in.
If i hadn't paid for the track day, i would have taken my time and done some research to see what would be the best bang for your buck suspension for track use. Did a quick search and everyone seems to be running megans and Way from WMW suggested them as well. The Mod mini channel dude also uses the Megans. Don't know if there was other options like regular shocks (non OEM bilstein or something else) and different type of springs and camber plates or something.
Happy when it broke it went forward instead of back. It would of taken my brake lines/ABS/Brake sensor and only god knows what else.
But happy it happen on the highway and not at the track. Taking a corner at speeds.
How was WGI?

BTW - what track are you going to?
I know what you mean about being lucky that it didn't happen on the track. The Gen II MINIs with the aluminum rear trailing arm are known for stripping out the lower shock bolt. When this happens it drops the whole car on the ground. I have had to keep a close eye on mine to make sure that doesn't happen to me.
WGI with the new track surface was fantastic. I was a bit rusty, though, and my MINI seems to be prone to high oil temps, which I need to do something about. My MINI, being set up as a street car that is good on the track, did really well and I am always amazed at how well it does. I have video, but my wife says it is boring. My run group tends to be small and most of the cars and drivers are quicker then me. So I tend to be running by myself. But I will post some.

Raceway Park Englishtown. They said it not a great track. Never tracked there before, since Metro PCA doesn't go there, But that track is less then 70 miles away from me, so if anything happens AAA can pick me up and drop me off home LOL.
I'm a little scared specially after this. Well the good news is that after the coilovers the only things left that i didn't purchase and came with the car is the rear control arms and i don't see does failing lol.
Coilovers already shipped, hopefully it gets here Wednesday or Thursday

I knew two people who used the BC coilovers without problems. Both had run theirs on the track and one autocrossed with his. So I guess you never know. However both said that they ran them because they were inexpensive but both said the lower price was reflected in the lack of good control. Another friend ran a set of ACTs at about $3k a set. Now those were nice. Good luck with the Magens. Let us know how they are once you get them on and you have had a chance to use them.

So since the car is down. I decided to get some stuff done. Made a bracket for my OCC and i purchased a used cold side supercharger horn to install the WMI nozzle and a source to get boost for the WMI.
Plan on making the Headlight washer tank the reservoir. What I'm still trying to wrap my head around is getting about 2" diameter of cables and hose into the cabin from the engine bay thru the firewall. I know some of the cables i can cut and splice them back together, but prefer not to do this. Any ideas? here is the list.
2 cables for the WMI pump
1 Cable to connect to the Positive terminal in the engine bay for WMI MAP/controller
1 boost hose for the WMI MAP sensor/Controller
2 Cables for the WMI Tank Level sensor
1 big fat connector for the wide band sensor Gauge
1 big connector for the Map Sensor for the Boost gauge
1 cable for the Shift light
1 big connector for the Oil temp gauge (still dont have but looked at the install instructions, Innovate will be coming out with the updated version on June 30)
1 big connector for the Oil Pressure gauge. (still dont have, but looked at the install instructions, Innovate will be coming out with the updated version on June 30)
This is going to be a useless question, but hope some one has the answer. I looked under the steering wheel and there seems to be a big gourmet that has the red cable which i assume comes from the battery cable in the engine bay, but i can't see it from the engine bay or is not accessible. Push come to shove ill just drill a whole and figure out how to make a gourmet or where to purchase one from. But prefer not to do this so if anyone can help me out here.
Found other air bag in the pile of stuff the guy gave me when i purchased the car. Going to install it and see if this will make my air bag light go away.
The Oil Catch Can and the WMI Pump are going to live right here

So got the CO today and installed. Installed the timing chain tensioner and bolt which then turns out i didn't need since it was just that the old one was just loose, but i installed the new stuff since i couldn't return it anyway. Replace the oil cooler Gaskets. it was pretty flat and hard
Tomorow
Going to change oil
Get other alignment
Install my OCC
Need to get all the tools out of the car to see if this will help with the scrapping in the rear. I will have to adjust the suspension if that doesn't do it.
Here is the lucky one. It snapped right before the hat.
Much eaiser to do this with the oil cooler off and the strut off.

Yah im sure they are for the R53. The R56 are not that different then the R53. The old BC CO also has same thing.
