dyno sheets for common upgrades?

I just put on an ALTA 17% pulley and I am real curious about the change in tq and hp, and where they increase, etc.

Just like people have said in other threads, TOTALLY different car after.

Does anyone have a link to some dyno sheets for a 17% + intake vs. stock?

i got it from ebay (streetrays) and it was $120 shipped with the belt. I am a service manager at a MINI dealership, so the tech did the work, we were slow today.

it was boosting at a quiet and comfy 8psi (ish), and now its MEAN sounding at boosts to about 15psi. FRIGGIN MONSTAH.

Your boost seems a bit low stock and pullied for a 2006 model.

17 psi seems a little high even with a 17% pulley. More like 15 or 16.

It is a mechanical boost gauge tapped off the FPR.

Last night was the first commute with teh new pulley. The whole way home (50 miles), I could hear more air being sucked in at all times. It also is very boost happy, a little twitch of the throttle winds it right up. It, however, does not deal with lower RPM / higher load like the original setup did. If I am on back roads at about 2500 RPM and apply 1/2 throttle, I get a low MMMMMM, like the engine saying, "yeah, um, not yet, hang on, uhhhh, could ya downshift please?". Really reminds me of when I had a bigger turbo car, the LAG feeling.

HOWEVER, when its at 3000+ and you roll on the throttle, WOW!

Not sure you are going to find many dyno sheets with pulls on the stock motor, and then pulls on just a pulley, or just a cold air intake.

Because dyno time is expensive, most people put all the mods on their car and THEN take them to the dyno to see what kind of power they make and/or to have them tuned. So you really never get to see the "before" power and torque.....you just is the "after".

Have you tried searching google for "mini r53 dyno sheet" ?

There's a thread somewhere with the info you want. I'd guess 15hp gain

Its not the peak HP, its the curve and where it changes is what I'm interested in. I have had peaky cars before. I'm really curious if my tq peak has lowered, or moved at all.

these cars vary wildly....largely due to varying build quality, and changes made in production....there were HP upgrades, ecu and software changes, a tranny gearing change, etc...R53 cars were in a state of flux....it was not till the "refresh" in 2005 that the basic hp and design basically froze...
you probably gained about 15 hp on a decent motor...most likely around 180 or so to the wheels
but if you want TQ, a custom tune WILL MAKE IT FEEL like a DIFFERENT car....or at least it did on mine....
gave me more lower end TQ, where i wanted it due to my driving style....it made the car more fun in town.

I do think that is my next step, a canned tune. Its so un-smooth right now.

its a young car with only 47k on it, I got it in april with 37k on it, one owner...

With the new pulley your SC is making more boost everywhere in the rpm range.....so I doubt your torque fell off at all. From the dyno graphs I've seen before....adding more boost pretty much just take the existing TQ curve and moves it up a little. It doesn't make it more peaky, if anything it flattens it out a little more.

I think that because our motors use the vacuum actuated bypass valves to control when boost comes on, they are going to naturally feel "unsmooth" compares to a N/A motor or even a turbo motor. That's why the R53's all have that "yo-yo" feel when you are at mid throttle and the BPV is just starting to want to close to build boost....even with the DT BPV mine still has a little bit of that yoyo feel at part throttle.
