Have you tried using a scan tool to see what the code is?
Is there fluid in the tranny?

Your question is so vague

sorry for being vague, tranny is full of fluid, EML light comes on for a second, Engine light stays on. Oil in car was changes. Tranny had Drive belt replaced. Everything is hooked up correctly. I heard about a fail safe mode for CVT Transmissions. I have owned a mini for a month now, already regretting it. lol, got the car cheap.
Using code reader i got a few codes , gas cap and a few others but none to do with the transmission. I did get one code i did not know "no SUP" The car starts asnd runs fine with no wierd noises from tranny, will shift but not move

P0455 here - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected Gross Leak
P1787 & P1698 may be related to the transmission. Some good info HERE with a solution. Any time searching for P1787, code P1698 is listed along with it. Otherwise, if that solution doesn't work I also ran across some threads that said to check the battery as it could be the cause and it was for one individual.
P1741 - Clutch Solenoid Open Circuit

Are you getting the xP or xD or xR on the display? I'd try to follow the steps given at post #3 at that link to see if it may at all help with your issue. Test the battery too, see what voltage it's reading.

No problem! Wish I could be more helpful. I did find something where someone mentioned it could be a loose connector from the transmission. Thread here.

I'm no expert on this so bare with me. Since it's a used transmission there is a possibility it could be a faulty part. Otherwise, if you had a similar issue to this before the install of the used transmission, maybe a fuse is blown that affects the solenoid..? If it is a new transmission you may still need to program/code it to the car. If you have the tools to do this, it may not be a bad idea to try. This is going off some BMW experience, but never did anything like this with a MINI. Make sure everything is connected to where it should. Sorry I can't be of much help, but hopefully someone else will chime in with some ideas.

I rebuilt the tranny by myself, chain was the only problem. if the parts are messed in the tranny shouldn't they show on the error codes? there are zero error codes showing after i cleaned the plugs that connect to the tranny. I also tightened the gas cap. No warning lights on the mini. At a loss

It still may be worth a shot to reprogram the module. Were any faults present before the rebuild causing you to rebuild it?

One of my MINI specialists will be in tomorrow so I'll pick at his brain to see what other ideas he may have. In the mean time, let me know what you find.

I have found that the cable to the tranny has gotten bent during the tear out. I have a question. Should I be able to manually put it in gear without the cable to test the tranny?
