yea. i know the car had just been to the mini shop right before failure due to a low oil light. they found sludge in the filter housing. honestly i went into it with the thought that it may need an engine and even then im going to be around 2500 into the car. so it wont hurt at all.
im going to pull the serpentine belt and try to rotate again to make sure something else isnt locked up. and if that fails gonna pull the head off by the end of today and get a visual

Even if you unlock it...every part is now suspect...the cam is usually pretty well messed up, and MINI engine parts are so $$, best option is swap it..
Just be sure the motor came out if a good running wreck...
Many a MINI have run low on oil...

The car requires syenthic oil..and sludge usually is from dino oil...
Since the owners address, name, and phone is on that sheet...you might want to take it down, or cross it out and repost it...

well. ill have to clean a spot in the garage and get it rolled in and start taking the front end off. i work out of town during the week so only leaves weekends. so ill get everything ready for a new donor replacement. is there any tips/tricks to the job as this will be my first mini engine swap.
