The check engine light threw a code and it's stored. I'd check the stored code and see what it says.

So good news today.

After dreading a 4 week turnaround on the air ride kit I find out from my man Alex at Bag Riders that I can expect my kit this coming Thursday!

If all goes well my mini project will be 90% complete by this weekend.

Tomorrow I am fitting the new BBS wheels with some rubber.

The rest of the week I'll be updating with the mounting of my new steering wheel, hub , quick release , brake upgrade, serpentine belt replacement with the addition of a new tensioner and Alta tensioner stop, and installing the new camber arms.

Hopefully I'll wrap up this week with a functioning Mini on a V2 kit and some beautiful wheels.

Only thing I'm waiting on are some last minute Bride Zeta seats I ordered and my skid plate.

This week ill be ordering some various goods from Pelican Parts and ECS tuning and once I do I'll update with my phase 2 of this awesome Project.

I did it was a misfire code.

It hasn't happened since and when I checked tge factory ignition cap it had corrosion on the corresponding misfire cylinder. Im assuming once I switch to the Screamon cap ill be alright especially since I plan to use dielectric grease every oil change as a service I normally do.

If you needed the AirLift kit, we had it in stock, ready to ship. Hope you can get it in time.

Looking forward to seeing this done on phase I and II. Post up some pics.

Hopefully it doesn't come back and that helps with the misfire. Just keep an eye on it. If it does come back let us know. Looking forward to seeing the kit and wheels installed. I love BBS (I may be biased as I have some too ).

Thanks ECS ! I was very fortunate that Bag Riders had it in stock and I did note after purchase that you had it all ready! However I have found some other items you carry for.my phase 2 and I can't wait to do.business with you.

Again sorry for no.real progress I'm just waiting on my workshop space ( I have my father in laws E350 work van in for a last minute rear brake service until Wednesday). Im also missing a few parts and dont want to proceed until I have everything. I will snap some pictures Thursday once the shop is cleared and I lay out all the parts and get the Mini on jackstands

Quick question for everyone

I couldn't find any direct correspondence in the car fax that stated the supercharger has had the oil changed or been rebuilt. Carfax says a very general "dealer maintenance preformed" which is no help. I'm at just under 97k...is it time for the JCW to have the oil swapped or supercharger rebuilt?

Great, glad I could help.

I would do the supercharger oil to be sure it was done. You can inspect the SC inside gears.

Great thread here on the DIY :

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ge-how-to.html

One easy , the other is hard to reach.

The oil is right here: and it does have a noticeable smell to it. Part # 12345982

It might be a good idea to service it if there is no indication it has been done. Just searching around the forum, I found a few threads about rebuilds and servicing. This thread here might be useful as far as service intervals go and how long the SC should last. Here is another good thread on NAM about the supercharger maintenance. Here is a good DIY on the oil change if needed.

Good info. I read some prior but its still so up in the air I want really able to make a logical decision. However I figure if in going to have the car apart I might as well. I looked at my Chilton and its a simple task. As you can see from my wife's prior roster of Minis we never actually had one long enough to perform that service.

Looks like more added to the list along with a BPV and seals

Yes, since you're tearing into things and the SC is on the list, you can access quite a bit more while you're in there. As you said, BPV inspection will be easy to do. Gray Raven has a good list on post #3 here from one of the threads I posted. I'm sure your MINI will be very happy once you're done with this now seemingly large list.

Thanks Pelican!

The list isn't to bad now
So far I have the following in my shop waiting for tomorrow
Msd wires
Deamon cap
Cam
Gates jcw belt ( I've decided not to go pulley but cam first)
Oil/ filter
Tensioner, stop , and tool
Brake rotors pads
Strut tower reinforcement
Camber arms
Poly bushings
Piper cross filter
And smaller bits and bobs for steering wheel change

Air ride comes on Thursday

Phase 2 list has grown but I'm considering moving back pose 1 a hair so I can do the SC oil

I felt the reinforcement was a bit more necessary on a car that needs a skid plate as well

My pleasure! Yes, the SC should be a priority. It's always an ease of mind knowing things are properly maintained and ready for all those fun modifications.

Agreed!
I plan to service everything I can while supercharger is out. I was mainly trying to figure out if I installed my gates belt would I have enough time at 97k to wear it out and then swap pulleys, and do SC oil ,when new belt time comes so I could just drive the thing post air ride.
