Any ideas? I thought it might be a nail in the tire but there is no nail, only what looks like dirty oil around the back part of undercarriage closest to the wheel.

Only happens when turning left, not right and only from what sounds like the passenger side wheel.

Sounds like a CV axle going bad...

probably unrelated, but while I went to look at it, I found a puddle of oil under my driver side (???) and looking under the hood found this green patch that hasn't been there before…any insight if the two are related? Or is this about to turn into a nightmare?

It's either a CV joint or a wheel bearing

Those pictures look like a slight coolant leak...the thermostat housings are know to leak.

Oil or grease?

If it is grease, then you have a hole in the dust cover and you are throwing joint grease and more then likely at that you might be driving on a dry CV knuckle joint, and that can tick and clunk a bit.

If you catch it early enough, you can re-grease it and replace the boot at lower cost.

Best of luck.

Motor on!

Thanks for all the help guys. It looks like oil, but doesn't taste like oil. Fingers crossed it's grease. I'll be putting her up on stands this afternoon and fingers crossed can have the boot replaced soon and will update.

I had the same issue after driving on a rock dirt road. Two days later the clicking and drainage stopped.

Worth getting it checked out or is this something that could have only been temporary?
