Potential Air Leak or Failing BPV

Hello Ladies and Gents,

So I know there are numerous threads out about air leaks and bad mpgs, and I have read a good number of them but none seem to be the same.

The issue: At idle, I can hear a sucking sound which seems to be coming from my IC. It is concentrated on the right side of the IC and sounds almost just like a CAI, but the sound seems to decrease as you move away from that area. I'm not getting any dumby lights or throwing any codes. The car seemingly drives fine although I have nothing to compare it to.

Within the last couple days, I have noticed that as I'm cruising down the interstate(75~80 mph) I see the mileage range rapidly falling. I dropped almost three miles within ~20 secs, with the cruise set.

I've been told to check for air/vacuum leaks but I would think if I had a leak, I would be thrown into limp mode or see a CEL, especially with this being a FI motor. I'm beginning to think it could be the BPV, as the car has ~128k on the clock.

Any help would be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Have you taken off the IC too check the boots?
4 torix bolts...about a 4 minute job...
The rubber boots split and tear with age as they get brittle...
A failed IC is pretty rare, but possible.

I haven't fully inspected the driver side one, but I did spray them down with carb cleaner to see if it would cause a change in idle. I'm going to get a friend to help me attempt to smoke test it later on today.
