timing cover bolts
hey everyone! first question is short and simple: ive just replaced my crank and and reassembing everything and cant seem to figure out what bolts are my timing cover bolts. i kept all of them in a pile but a lot of my bolts got mixed together over the course of reassembling. i know a few of them are different sizes and arent all the same and i cant seem to find a picture anywhere! i have a r50 btw.
EDIT: its been in parts so long, i totally forgot the tensioner bolts onto the cover. so that problem is solved. the timing problem still remains.
second question is: is there any way to adjust the timing without removing the engine or adjusting the valves by hand? in the mini manual you have to take the headers off and it specifically says that the colored links have nothing to do with timing...so why would they even be there? also, even with the tensioner out, the chain doesnt have enough slack to skip teeth, so are there any tricks i need to know?? thanks!

Timing cover bolts are all going to be black 10mm heads, and one Torx 30 head at the top right corner.
The gold links are to correlate between the two timing marks on the cam and crank. The crank has two dots where the two simultaneous gold links match up to, and the single gold link matches up to the single arrow on the cam gear.
