R50/53 Waterpump / Supercharger Gear

Nope. prepare to dedicate a day or two to tearing the front end of your car off. Honestly, though, just follow Mod Mini's how-to video on YouTube & you'll be fine. That's what I did for my car & it took about a day & a half. I recently did the project again on my girlfriend's R53 & was totally done in 5 hours.

just did the whole deal on my car,(clutch, supercharger maint and pulley, water pump)depending on your location (hard winters and road salt) that was the really the issue with my project was the certain fasteners where corroded ,, just take your time around the plastic connectors and clips,, these are fragile ,, ,, depending on mileage, do the following ,, super charger service, waterpump, check radiator hoses for chaffs, check your low speed resistor located on the fan assembly , bpv connector hose turns rock hard, serp belt and any oil seepage that might be leaking out of the crank sensor on the block below the water connection for the waterpump,, gmonde

Because of all the horror articles about ruined Superchargers due to the PTO gears running out of oil I serviced my 2004 MCS supercharger at 85k. It was performing ok and not making any kind of noise. When I opened her up there was very little oil left but the gears were still in excellent shape. I'm glad I caught it before any damage was done. I also did the water pump, water flange O ring replacement and the crank shaft position sensor O ring seal. Since I had it all opened up, might as well change what I can. So the moral of the story is service the a mileage supercharger before it starts to have problems.
