Difference between R50 and R53 Trailer Hitch

Has anyone ever looked at the differences between a trailer hitch for an R50 and one for an R53? In my particular case, the '06.

When I look at stock photos of the two most popular brands, they ultimately look to be the constructed the same, just made different ways.

They both exit through the blank plug or fog light depending on what you have in there.

Has any tried to mount an R50 hitch on an R53? What was your experience?

Thanks!

The difference is the location of the reverse light. They are close but if you try to put an R50 hitch on an R53 it won't come out the hole. So make sure you get the one for your car.
