My 1st MCS (2004) Did a few things - thoughts?
Hi everyone, I am new to the Mini scene. Been into VW, Honda, Acura, BMW in the past. I picked up the 04 MCS about a 1 1/2 months ago.
2004 MCS 115k for $6k. Body is clean and straight, mechanically feels solid.
I have been mentally planning things out the past few weeks and got the ball rolling the past few days.
Tein S-Tech springs (stock struts)
Magnaflow exhaust
35% tint
Painted stock wheels
Dipped all the black trim
What do you think so far?
Before
After

Hey Sleeper,
Lovin' the mcs and this thread has helped me in some decisions. My 03 MCS is similar; 'cept I'm with black top and black mirrors. AND, my 3yr old simply calls it The Mini.
I have some questions about the springs and stock struts. I'm still stock suspension breaching 108k. What are you at with miles? I've heard good reviews and long life of stock struts and want to lower a bit; been looking all over for a proper drop and glad to see you're on tein springs. I'm a daily driver on various roads and have been looking into upgrading struts as well.
Looking forward to hear back.
Thanks

I, currently, run on Tien coil overs, but they're pretty aggressive and have a stiff ride as I primary invested in them for racing. If you're wanting to go with an updated strut/shock and spring set up rather than a coil, look into the Bilstein Touring Class here and H&R Springs here. Done this set up on a few different cars before and it's a pretty good ride. Both are great quality products and I've had personal experience with them. I know the Koni is a popular shock/strut upgrade as well so look into those as an option too. Let me know if you have any questions.
