Oh ya, that's why I don't go through Car Washes...

Got lazy and took Dougal through a car wash this evening. When I pulled over to the vacuum station, I noticed that the lens on the top of the rear bonnet was missing...

It was found in the car wash. Looks like it was glued in place. A bit of super-glue tomorrow and a lesson learned.

Are you upset at the car wash for trashing your car or are you upset at your car for not being able to stand up to a car wash?

Took mine through one that uses the cloth strips to wash.
Afterwards the hood was littered with pencil eraser sized chips.
:(
Forever washing her myself.

When will MINI people learn that car washes are for soccer mom/grocery getter appliances that nobody gives a rip about? Two bucket hand washing is the only way to treat a MINI.

I only use touchless washers, haven't had an issue yet, and I only use them in the winter and 1-2 times a year

I agree on the two bucket wash, but my Soccer mom/Grocery getter was substantially more than my MINI, so I give them the same treatment. Actually the touchless washes are great for salt rinsing in the winter, but thats really it.
