Buzzing Like a Bee

I have an 05 R-53 with approx. 77,000 mi on it. Original owner. Never been wrecked. REAL clean. Recently while cruising along at about 65mph it starts to buzz.Sounds like it's coming from rt rear (pax).Funny thing is it only does it on windy days with more of a crosswind. As the wind gusts the sound is intermittent. I've had it on a rack and inspected it thoroughly. Could find nothing loose. Any suggestions???

Do you have anything on your antenna? We went on a group ride this summer with some other minis and they handed out little checkered flags to stick on you antennas and they buzzed like mad.

My replacement windscreen intermittently "sings" - but the conditions have to be "just right" (or rather just exactly WRONG) - the wind has to be blowing hard (like it does sometimes, in Chicago) from the front or sometimes side-on, and I have to be speeding.
To other ears, I suppose my sound could be considered a "buzz". It's not from the rear though. Buzzing in the back might be related to the hatch/latch, or stowed supplies/tools working loose. Loose exhaust hanger?

ShipM8, I did have a recent addition on my antenna and once removed the buzzing was gone. Thanks, I owe you a beer.

How about noises from something loose in the muffler? I read about the antenna thing but mine is sounding like a loose piece in the muffler.

Has anybody heard if 2005 Mini mufflers have a muffler baffle problem?

Morel likely that an exhaust shield is loose or the terribly designed muffler hanging system has rusted through -- not that hard of a fix but the space is tight.

My muffler hangers were in great shape but replaced them anyway. I've also looked carefully at the muffler heat shield but too looks great. No rust or damage is visible anywhere.

Thanks for the suggestion as I'm frustrated by the noise.
