Flat Tire Warning Light - Weight Issue?
'05 MCS
I've had the Mini for 4 years now and never had much of an issue with the Flat Tire Warning icon. I'm having to carry much more weight recently (drum set) and I put 40lbs in every tire. The door jam label says 38lbs. No sooner did I do this I got the warning on the dash. Upon inspection the tires are all fine. I tried resetting it using the little button down by the passenger seat but the light stayed on. When I drive without the extra load there is no issue. Could the extra weight be throwing it off - or should I go back to 38lbs. per tire? BTW, I'm running regular tires, no run flats. Thanks!

After adding air to tires, you should re-set the system....it MUST relearn the tire rpms it compares from tire to tire....
Sometimes it can be a pain to re-set the light..it can take one or two tries...so look up the procedure in the owners manual..and try it...somebody might oist it...but like I said might take a couple tries.
