I'm just looking for something that fits in the factory holes that will give a little better performance.

One tip...
The stock head has fairly low power....
So pay close attention to the efficiency or db per watts the speakers you choose put out, or you may find the system is too quiet with the new speakers....
If I recall, the stock spears are NOT a stock size, but a common euro size...crutchfield has ones that fit or adaptors I believe to let others fit.

Ok few things:
1) To make more bass you have to move more air. You can do this by increasing the diameter and/or by increasing the throw of the speaker cone.
2) Both of these will add mass to the moving assembly which, all things equal, require more power to drive.
3) Like Zippy said, factory decks usually lack power.
4) Also, factory decks tend to lack frequency response as well.
So... If you simply drop in a beefier speaker (midbass door), you probably wont be happy with the results.
If it were me, I would start with a new deck and a decent set of 6.5" efficient components speakers. Here's a review of some for ideas: http://caraudionow.com/4997/best-6-5...speakers-2014/
The factory door speakers are 5.25" so 6.5"s will give you a step up in diameter and an aftermarket deck will give you more power and better sound across the whole spectrum. I don't use the rear 5x7"s because I never have people in the back seat.
If that does not give you enough bass then you can look at adding a dedicated subwoofer section to the system.
