Question about JCW suspension

At 160k miles, I am finally getting around to replacing my stock sport suspension. This obviously should have been done a long time ago, but life happens.

I was originally considering Koni yellows but have recently thought that the JCW suspension will suffice. Any idea if my sport package springs will work? ECS says "JCW springs are needed separately for this kit that are red in color". Does this mean that if I don't have the red springs, this kit will not work with my current springs?

Not really wanting to incur the cost of coilovers on a car with this may miles, but are there any other options I should be looking at?

TIA.

The Koni Yellows are great shocks and can't recommend them enough if you want lowering springs.

If you aren't going to lower it the Koni FSD's are a better choice with no adjustment like the yellows.

If you want springs check out are TSW springs they were specifically designed by MINI owners for the MINI only lowering the car 3/4 inch keeping shock travel so ride and performance will out do any other spring.

Hello Fanta,

That JCW suspension is designed to be paired with the JCW red springs which are ordered separately based on VIN and options. PM me your VIN and any additions you had added from factory. Dependent on what you want , you could do the that JCW tuning suspension. Or Koni FSD on your stock sport springs. I have not seen / heard of someone running the JCW shock part of the suspension on sport springs. So I don't know what the ride would be like. You could also get the sport shocks factory and then pair with H&R springs if you want to be lowered a bit avg 1" front & .75" rear.

BTW really like your MINI Factory R99 BBS wheels , don't see those too often.

Thanks

I put a JCW suspension on my 2006 at 116,000 miles. For me it is perfect, all of the parts are designed to work together & aren't a cobbled up mish-mash.

I didn't buy from ESC, I tried, but was left hanging on hold for over a half hour. Same for my second try with them. Figured they didn't want my business so their competitor got it.

Sorry for the hold on the phone ashchuckton. Send me a PM w/ VIN and options and I can get right to it asap. And have the springs you need for the JCW Tuning kit. Or anything else for that matter.

Thanks

That is the way I see it too, where it is a direct bolt on part. What springs did you use?
