yeah...lol..saw that on my reread! Lol..should be good...
If you do a 15% you WILL need the shorter belt...
If the sc is out of the car...cutting it off might be doable....one tip..check to ensure the pulley is a stock (not JCW) one on the sc...the stock pulley is larger...and the puller will bend and bread, not remove a JCW which is usually cut off....
For a higher rpm driver, a JCW pulley is IMO the sweat spot....but my driving style meant a 17% was better for Me..more lower end tq in exchange for less top due to heat.

as long as your doing other service to the car, check this out, http://imperialmini.com/ they make a oil recharge system for the super chargers.
Ugh, you have me thinking about this. . I will definetly check the crank pulley while in there and if mine is looking against the rope I will will be ordering this.

I still have it 'kicking around' for my next engine install/build.

When you check the sticker for the production date...there will be a mini/BMW part number...look it up...
It was I'll tell you if it is a new or rebuilt (by mini) part and if it has an s or jcw pulley....
Since the unit is said to be "new" the sticker should be intact, and you can verify it is not a mini/BMW rebuild by looking up the number......

This just popped up on the market place. He has a puller separate from the package.

Sorry don't mean to spam you with links. Just figured since I had my eyes on the marketplace, I'd share my findings
EDIT: Another tool just popped up

Soooo I am in need of input again
I went and picked up the supercharger last night
Here is his story:
He builds custom race lawnmowers for people. A buy that he built a mower for owed him some money and works for Eaton. He gave his the supercharger as a payment.(Shady I know) But I will say Eaton is local to me so it could be true.
The claim was new out of box Supercharger.
So when I picked it up it could be new, but I doubt it
I see some signs of rebuild like the bolt heads have some marks like they have been removed and re attached
The Black coated veins have a couple little scratches in the finish
Overall the part looks very clean, but someone could have just cleaned it.
The sticker with the barcode has been faded
Here are my ?'s
Is there any tell tale way of seeing if it is rebuilt
When I roatate the pulley The is a little resistance. I don't know if this is normal. It spinning smoothly, but has a little resistance. Make a little noise in the veins from the roatation. The sticker with the barcode has been faded away.
I only ended up paying $440.00 knowing it's a gamble and not the shiny new SC as promised. But just trying to make sure it's fit to install in My MCS
Thanks
(Zippy looking for your help on this one lol)

Well...eBay can be a "pig in a poke"....
The fact the serial numbers/part numbers are faded (chemically no doubt) means the history is unknown....
Many nearly new sc were around for years...
When a JCW kit was dealer installed ( the only way to get it till 2005) the old head and sc were removed....some folks who worked at dealers seemed to have gotten garages full if them and sell them slowly...no reason to oblidrate the seriel number though....
So drag/resistance is expected since it is a air compressor and has the added water pump gears...
While it does not sound like it was exactly as advertised, it sounds like you did OK
..a few pics might help folks look at it for other signs.....

Just an update(Not that anyone cares)..I took it to Detroit tuned to remove the stock pulley to install the Alta 15% pulley. Turns out it is a JCW supercharger and already has smaller pulley. OOOOps
Anyone want to buy a brand new 15% pulley? HAHAHAHA
I have recieved all the parts and some other fun stuff so next weekend I will do the install. Last Night I replaced the Manual Tranny fluid and the broken driver side door brake.
The couple things I am still pondering is a oil pan gasket, and an aluminum coolant expansion tank

The two main benefits:
1. Obviously cost - A non diluted Gallon is $13.00 compared to over $30.00 for OEM
2. Availablity - I can purchase Zerex G-05 at Walmart, Autozone, Pep Boys, Napa, etc. I like the fact that I can get the coolant at any time day or night across the country as compared to Just a Mini/BMW dealer at dealer hours. I take a lot of fun road trips and don't want to pack coolant, but like knowing I can get it in any city.
My research shows that Zerex G-05 is actually an approved and recomennded coolant. I email Valvoline that makes Zerex and they explain only use G-05 and no other Zerex brand models as it's the only recomended brand. To my surpise the Back of the bottle even has a MINI logo on it.
I really do seriously appreciate your thoughts though. To me forums are a great source of think tank. I am a guy that is borderline OCD with maitenance of his Motorcycles and cars and I think thats why the availibilty it such a big deal to "me". But most lilkely me just being a spaz. HAHAHA

ill give you a tip about the alta couplers. use a mixture of dish soap and water around 1:10 and soak the couplers in it, and get the intercooler horns finger wet, helps putting them on. also if theres any burrs in the horns, helps to take a file to those
i completly failed trying them dry, used the soapy water got em on in 10 min

So it is done...
Honestly nothing was really difficult, just everything was very time consuming. I would truly say anyone with basic mechanical skills could do it, but plan on it taking a while. I took an entire day, but I also did many other projects at the same time.
Final result- my stock SC must have been barely pushing any boost because WOW!!! What a difference. The little bugger rips now.
