Question re: R53 intake pipe

2004 MCS, 135K. While changing my air filter today the corrugated rubber pipe that goes from the upper, outlet side of the air filter housing to the throttle body before the input horn of the supercharger broke apart in my hands. I bought a new one at the dealer. ($40+). What is the secret to R&R it? How much do I need to disassemble? Can I reuse the clamp that secures it to the throttle body, or should I use a new band clamp? TIA.

Can't say I've done it, but looking at it I'd just replace the OEM clamp with a screw type. You can probably reuse the OEM, but would have to remove more intake plumbing to get tools in there to do it.
Good thing it fell apart in your hands and not on the road!

i replaced mine with a silicone intake, mostly for looks and a smoother transition the only thing i had to remove, and it was mostly for my large hands was the short ram black hard plastic tube, the throttle body is right there, the intake pipe isnt very large.

you can reuse the clamps so long as you didnt completly destroy them when pulling them out, but i would just get some screw type pipe clamps, alot easier if it ever happens again

Salty salt - did you see any butt dyno results or anything? Better fuel economy?

Do you have a DIY? What brand did you get?
