2005 Cooper S Low Voltage at Stereo

All

I have a 2005 mini cooper s with the HK stereo setup. My stereo is only getting 1.5v at the constant wire and full voltage at the on off wire when the switch is turned on. If I run a jumper wire from the fuse panel, which has 12v for the constant power the stereo works great. With the car off the voltage is still 1.5v with the constant wire disconnected. I cannot find a wiring diagram for the car online so I am not sure where to look next. I do know that the sunroof leaked and the keyless entry doesnt work either so I am thinking that maybe a control box got wet and is causing both issues. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

Jamie

Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows what the Red/Brown constant wire all connects to? I have disconnected the constant wire but it still is getting 1.5v so it has to be connected somewhere else as well.

Thanks Eric but that one doesn't help me much. I need to see the total wiring schematic to see what and where this wire ties into. There is no reason why this wire should be staying hot with 1.5v when it is disconnected from the fuse box.

I purchased the chiltons manual but it is terrible, don't waste the money on it as it isnt really that beneficial for wiring stuff.

According to the wiring diagrams (http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/r.../r50/index.htm), the red/brown wire on pin 15 goes directly to fuse F27 (15A). The H/K amp is also connected to this fuse. On the other side, F27 is connected to 50A fuse FL2 in the engine compartment.

BTW, the diagrams on bmw-planet have broken links and in general the site doesn't work well. Better to get the version on DVD (search eBay for "BMW WDS" -- very cheap pirated software). The Bentley manual has the same diagrams but difficult to use (simply printed off the WDS, and not interactive).

Thanks! I ended up having a bad wire with a few breaks in it between the fuse panel, the stereo and the amp. I had to run a new wire to the stereo and onto the amp as it was not providing the power it needed. Everything is good to go now and has been working for a few months.
