How to Access Seat Belt - '05 Mini Cooper S

I am trying to open/access the seat belt panel where it gets in the tensioner. Before I break anything, has anyone done this before? I am a new member so can someone post instructions on how to open and access the seat belt panel please.

The issue I am having is that my seat belt gets soaking wet when it rains. I can't see anything from the outside of the car where the water is leaking from, so I would like to be able to open the panel inside then pour water to see where the leak is coming from.

Thank you in advance.

just a WAG...
but guessing you
1- must have a sunroof....and
2- the drain on it might be disconnected or plugged....leading it to overflow...
I would look for info on the sunroof drains....and check them.

Next I would look at the window seal....bet it is out of adjustment...might be noisy......water is streaming back past the glass....
Window should be TIGHT against glass...but if the door is a bit out of sack...a tiny bit...you have a gap...air...water comes in...there is a vent in the back....so bam....wet seat belt...
That's my 2nd guess!!

do your windows "do the dip" when you open the doors?

What part of the belt is wet? A picture or (crude) drawing might help. ... Is the exposed part wet, or what comes off the reel, or both? Any wet carpet?

This might sound silly .. BUT: you know those car washes where you can stay in your car?

Yes the windows are perfect. The inner part of the belt, the part that's in the panel that's retracted is the only wet part. That's why I need to open up the side panel so I can check where the water is leaking from. Any tips on how to access the side/seat belt panel will help.
