Update:
Well the paint will start going on after I get home from the Dragon. I have been priming and blocking the body, getting everything ready. Took a couple weeks of work on the new to me hood, just to get the crap respray job off of it and to add an inset hole for the one remaining NACA duct I am using.
I still cant find anybody who wants to swap bumper covers or a salvage yard that has the 2002/2003 pre facelift Justa Cooper bumpers with the chromeline trim. :( I might just need to bite the bullet and pay the $600 for new ones from the stealership.
I decided on wheels for the makeover, and they are going to pull off the look I am going for perfectly. I am going with Enkei J-speed's in 15X8 for the front, and 15X7 for the rears. They have a really small barrel to the wheel, so even with using the stock brakes, I will need to do some minor modification to make them fit. ( the lower ball joint stud, and one of the ridges on the brake calipers need ground down.)
I cant wait to get all of this done, its going to be one unique MINI! :D

Rat Rod MINI
Dicks Garage,
Have followed your mod thread and missed seeing updates lately. Glad you are back posting.
Happy to see a very different slant on modding a MINI. Have been around long enough to see Hot Rods when they were vogue. Was not sure what a Rat Rod actually was until I attended the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona last Thanksgiving. There were a number of them there. Your MINI will truely be unique.
Hope to see you at the Dragon and look forward with great anticipation to seeing your progress when you return to the project

After the Dragon, it should go pretty quick... Then its just getting it running again before going to collect some trophies...
Honestly, I am loving the "crap" look way more than what I had before! Nobody will ever expect it.
Time for a little voting session...
Out of these 3, what logo is going on the doors?
I have am idea of what one I like best, but could easily go either way...

It does look terrible, but I love it. It looks like crap from a distance, but when you get up close you can tell that you really love it. I think you did it a little TOO well though... A lot of peeps will be fooled into thinking it's junk. But that's awesome in its own way.

Thank you!
It really is the kind of thing you NEED to see in person to fully appreciate. Even when my best friend saw it in the garage fir the first time he couldn't believe it! I have tried different lighting, camera modes, photo editing, you just cant get the full effect in a pic!
Got one vote here for #2...
Added into the votes so far on the other site with a build thread for this car + the friends votes I am up to:
#1= 4
#2= 4
#3= 1
Please, if you are a follower of this build, cast a vote... I will be getting the stencils cut when I get back from the Dragon!
