Clear Coat

I noticed that my MINI does not have the clear coat finish applied under the boot hatch and around the edges. Does yours??

When I opened my boot this morning, I noticed a little tiny brown spec near the hatch strut. Hmm, could this rust? That's when realized that there's no clear coating around the edges on the inside.

No clear coat on mine either...I'll bet its normal. Rust isn't though...I'd be real surprised if those specs were rust. Definitely worth checking though.
