Sprint Booster

Quick question for those who have a sprint booster....I recently purchased a sprint booster (V2) and I LOVE it...what a difference.

The installation was very easy, the question I have is..when I turn the car off and remove the key te SB contro pad remains illuminated. Is that suposed to happen?

There is no mention in the istructions that the control pad will remain illuminated with the car in power down mode.

Thanks,
Mark

Glad you're enjoying it! Don't worry, it will turn itself out after a few minutes. Not sure how long it takes as I've never stood there waiting, but it does go off.

Where did you purchase your sprint booster, I've found one here: http://www.sprintboostersales.com/de...per&engine=Gas

but if there is a better price I would love to know!
Thanks,

Check Moss, they have a $30 off right now.
Or just check at WayMotorWorks, they may have a deal. I got mine from Wayland when he had a group buy.

Got mine from Way... I love it!
The light fooled me for a sec... But yes, it turns off after a few minutes!

There's always a lot of talk about the SB and if it's worth it.
I think it is.
The best description I found was "It's a short shifter for your throttle!" - Yep!!

I got mine from EuroSportDesign, they have semi-regular group buys on them. Free shipping, etc.

I have a CAI and 17% pulley with no tune. I have a sprint booster, but I'm not a fan of it and I almost never use it. I bought it for different MINI hoping it would make it feel faster, but I noticed no difference (I think the compression on that motor was going down) I took it off that car when it was totaled and put it on my new R53.

On my new car I do notice that it has a more sensitive throttle pedal, which is not really a good thing most of the time. It does make heel toe/rev matching for down shifts a little easier/faster but it also makes it harder to smoothly apply power when you're coming out of a corner.

Maybe it'd be better with a tune, but I doubt it because I think throttle pedal response is tune-able.

If they weren't so expensive I would give one a try...but that's a good chuck of cash for what it actually does.

There was another brand out there that was much cheaper, and people seemed to like it...but it was harder to get. I wish I could remember the name of it.

I got mine on sale from mini mania (I think) and I think there was a 30 day money back trial. I've got to say that I'm intrigued by the new generation of sprint booster, it sounds like you have a lot more control over what exactly it does to your throttle response.

Yep...that's the one I was thinking about. There just aren't a lot of places that sell them. I think Greasys Garage has them....but they only list an "installed" price.....I don't see where you can order them from them.

Can you get them anywhere else?

I was going to buy them here, but after reading reviews on them I went with a Sprint booster.

Can you give some details on how the V3 is different than the V2.....and what kind of settings/adjustments you can setup?
