Some of you will rembember the great flick, The Italian job where a whole gang of MINIs are a big part of a gold bullion robbery. If not see this link for more info.
Okay...pasting the link doesn't work. Well search the web for the movie. Anyway, you'll be happy to know that a remake/sequel to the Italian Job is underway here in Hollywood. Some of my friends are working on it. Hopefully DVL MINI can get a little screen time. If I can snap some photos I will and post them here.
I had to purchase the movie 9-months ago to show my kids what a Mini was/is. They really liked the stunt work but I think they were disappointed when I told them I wasn't taking my MINI down stairs or through the sewer.

I dunno... Aside from the accent, Mark Wahlberg actually strikes me as a good take on a younger Michael Cane. And he CAN act. Not that whatever I saw him in was memorable enough for me to be able to quote the name, of course, but I've never seen "boogie Nights," so that's not my point of reference, don't worry.
If anyone is interested, the original movie of The Italian Job will be released in the US on DVD (US and Canada players only) on November 5th. You can pre-order it already from Amazon and Best Buy (at least).
I'll wait till the day of release, but it's already marked on my calendar.

My dad saw them filming with all the cameras strapped to a silver/black Cooper (just like mine) on PCH near Point Mugu Air Base (around Malibu) just a few days ago!!! It will be interesting to see it. I haven't seen the original yet because I can't find it at rental stores. Whassup wid dat?
