Serpentine Belt Replacement for 04 NON S MC

Hi all,

I've done a ton of searching on this and have seen tons of info on the "S" mini's, but nothing really conclusive on the non- S mini. I need to change my serpentine belt. (By I, I really mean my dad who is a mechanic). I don't want to replace with an OEM belt, because from what I've read, the NAPA belt is a significant improvement over OEM. I'm concerned about what size belt that I need to purchase. Does anyone have a part number? I've seen a lot of buzz that the lengths of the belts have been variable. Also, is anyone aware of a good DIY for changing the serpentine belt on an 04 R50?

Thanks!

April

Mine is scheduled to be replaced come 60K miles (I am currently at 54K). Since I have the MINI Extended service contract (Until 100K miles), I have no choice but to go OEM with the engine belts covered by the plan.

Thanks for the repy, ClubmanS!

I have 52k on mine, but I can't bear the squeal on cold mornings any longer! I've seen that there are other things that can contribute to the morning/cold squeal other than the belt, but I'm pretty sure this is the main culprit. It's a cold morning squeal and doesn't happen at any other time... like when the car is in motion.

Fortunately no squeal noises for me, but it does sound like your needs to be replaced ASAP.
