A very happy birthday to you!!! It seems like a lot of us MINI folk have hit or passed the half-century mark. No matter - you're only as young as you feel and driving a MINI can make you feel mighty young.

Congratulations and many more!!!

Laurie

>>Here's a further slant on a nice thing about adding years. When I was 30 I thought of myself as immature. That was sometimes a problem. Now that I am in my 50s I still am but people find it sort of endearing: I am now just a fun loving eccentric. At this rate I should be really admired at 80!

Yesterday I withnessed delivery of a demo IB/W Italian Job replica MC (from the LA movie premiere) with full aerokit painted, rally lights and R90 wheels sold to a spry 84 year old physician and his younger wife. They looked quite at home. Gotta get them in our local MINI club. Then we will have MINI drivers that span almost 70 years of age.
>>
>>I asked the MA at Bill Jacobs if I was pretty compared to other Mini buyers. He was, of course, diplomatic but guessed the average age to be 30s and 40s. I think the national average is said to be lower. But hey, I think Mini ownership shows a lot of life.

I'm sure you're right up there on the pretty MINI owner scale. Ages vary a great deal I have found since the MINI has many levels of appeal from practical to hot rod and beyond (experimental science project).

When will I learn either not to write before waking up or to proofread? I meant that I asked the MA at Bill Jacobs if I was pretty OLD compared to other customers. As a person of the guy persuasion I would prefer being something like ruggedly handsome. That posting is right in there with my attempt to reply to a message to my girlfriend joking that I found her note "a bit erotic. It was a full day later that I realized I had hit reply to a note from Eang at Bill Jacobs about stumble.

Oh well, I am a fool, I admit it, but at least this gives me a chance to wish the birthday guy a happy Cajun feast tonight.

Want your MINI to run like a high-end sports car? 19% pulley and GIAC with larger injectors is all you need...BTW, 111,111 miles as of 2/2/08

Happy Birthday Kid. After 50 you don't get older, you get classier, and eccentric. Like turning 57 in 3 days and gettting a RED MCS for my birthday. Getting rid of the 330CI. Heck, it's an old man's car. Dennis, think MINI's appeal to Virgos more than others?

Wow, seeing this thread get dragged forward is reminding me that the clock is counting....

I will be 50 in not quite a month and a half.....

But I am convinced that my MINI has reversed the aging process and the more time I spend in this "time machine" the younger I become !!

Bill
