So I go to unlock both doors the other day with the remote and the driver door and boot both unlock but the passenger door does not! *&%$! The passenger door doesn't even unlock when I flick the unlock switch in the cabin. Has anyone else had this annoying problem?? Good thing the car is so small I can just lean across and unlock the door for my privileged passengers but it is still an annoyance. Possible fixes? Cost? Please help!
This happened to my wife's Mini on the drivers side earlier this year. I just popped off the door panel on the inside and there was some plastic piece that had poppped out of where it was supposed to be. I snapped it back on, and no problems since.
I think there were only three bolts I had to remove on the inside of the door. That was on a 2003, and I think there's only two bolts on the newer ones, one of which might be behind the arm rest. After removing those, the door panel is held on by clips all the way around. With a couple of flathead screwdrivers (start at the bottom where no one will see any scratches), pry it off and take a look. Shouldn't take too long once you get the first clip to pop off.
