I have had my MCS since Friday Dec 13th. SO by now I am VERY comfortable behind the wheel and know what it can do... but then came last Sunday. A few of us Central Texans met up at the Salt Lick for lunch and afterwards I got to test out a mini tiht the following mos
15% Reduction PULLEY *
Air Intake
Exhaust

I dont remeber exactly wich brands yadda yadda BUT they thought that the pulley had made the biggest difference...

OMFG!!! I WANT ONE!!! What else can I say!! I had the BIGGEST smile of my life (i think even bigger than when I first test drove a MINI)!!

I for the first time am pondering my decision to stay in stock class...

so in the end all i can say is

Pulleys...get one!

Xeon,

Ain't no cure for that kind of snake bite, son. Looks like the venom has done its trick. You are now one of us, the POWER freaks that hang out on MCO.

MUUUAHHHHAHHHH

LOL I got an air intake as well as nology wires sitting in the shop, I'll never know what MY mini was like stock, and all it will remember about it was driving to the dock, on the ship, on the freight truck, then to the garage.

I may well wanna get a pulley now too, lol.

There is NO CURE! The more you feed the MINI, the more it seems to need (or deserve).
I started with just lighter wheels and tires. The difference was amazing. So I thought 'just one more mod - maybe a cold air instake'. And that was wonderful.
But I thought 'Why not allow more air over the intercooler?'. So I removed the restriction from the hood scoop and added a larger inter-cooler air diverter. And it was better. But then I thought - 'Why not a new exhaust since I have improved the intake - just makes sense. Don't want to a cause an unhealthy amount of back pressure since the engine is getting more air'. And it was even better. But then I worried about not getting the full benefit from the new exhaust - you know, the stock header and cat were restrictive and I could do much better with a header and hi-flow cat. So I did. And it was better than before. At this point I realized resistance was useless. So I got the pulley. 'And behold, the wee beastie doth breathe fire and strike fear into the hearts of ordinary autos'. I was pretty impressed.
The last mod was 2 months ago. But the fever is upon me again. I hear voices telling me to call Randy. Over and over they say 'You have a credit card, you know Randy's number, he has the throttle body and water-to-air intercooler you want. Call him, call him...........'. And finally I realize 'Hey, I'm the only grown-up in this house. I can do anything I want..........'.

Give in, it's a win/win situation.

I've only owned my mcs for 3 months and already did the pulley and the alta intake.
I love the mods, I'm a little older now so I think I can wait until next summer for the ecu and maybe the exhaust.
Maybe not, I've always enjoyed the inmature part of me.

...and if you get the intake isn't it best to get the exhaust...more air in = more air out equation?

but the pulley could be done without either of the other two...yes?

for I, too, am curiously hanging just outside the garage door awaiting my first dip in the mod pool

Be aware there is no shallow end in the mod pool!
