1) Buy the Dark Silver genuine MINI paintstick at your dealership (Set comes with lacquer and clearcoat bottles). Retails for about $15-$20

2) Get a bottle of Langka to remove the dried paintblobs after applying the touch up paintsticks www.langka.com

3) Get a clearbra to protect the front end of the car.

If there are too many chips to begin with, you may consider having these repair by a mobile paint airbrush professional service www.aerocolours.com They can repair most of the chips at home and work while you wait without having the need to pay a body shop to repaint the whole hood and front bumper cover.

My personal approach to repairing paintchips is to use the method that does not require repainting the whole affected area.

Whatever you do, after all chips have been repaired, get a clearbra. Otherwise, you'll be doing the same song and dance every few years.

You need to call them. I guess anywhere between $125-$150 for the whole front end. For clearbra installers, check the vendor section here in NAM.

Does the Langka Blob Remover work on touch-up paint that's been for over a year?

Good fixes for a common problem. Mini tried to tell us it was the " Patina " back in the day but I never bought it LOL. If you do track events a popular protective program is to use painters tape, usually blue in color , on the leading edges. Do not use duct tape as you will have a ton of glue residue when it is time to remove it .

two cents

two cents opinion

I've used the Langka kit

it does work

it won't solve all your problems but can help with touch up blobs..... be patient.....let IT work...... apply it as directed but for dried paint expect to work the area for some time.....

Aw now that is a cool idea the Langka stuff. I will give it a try on the one chip on my bonnet.

The other way to deal with it is to have someone hit you in your work parking lot and not tell you about it and go get your entire front cover repainted. That is what I am doing right now. I can't complain on the price though $260
