Cigarette lighter not working

I just got a used 2005 Mini Cooper and the lighter doesn't seem to be working. Where are the fuses and which one controls the lighter? Are they easy to replace?

It is a great car to drive.

Cheers

Look for the symbol on the fuse panel door (by the driver's left foot)

It's F32 on mine, though yours may be different.

I accidentally disconnected a friend's lighter while installing an auto-up module, so after the fuse, lift up the console and make sure that the connectors are attached to the lighter.

From the above reply; " lift up the console and make sure that the connectors are attached to the lighter. "
What are the steps to lifting the console? Perhaps this is the motivation to break down and buy a manual.

It's not quite the right thread for this but for sake of context preserving, I thought I would share my findings here.

The cigarette lighter fuse for the 2008 Mini Cooper (Standard) is in the interior fusebox, number F42 - 20 amp. The fusebox door legend doesn't make this obvious with a cigarette icon as Mini has done in the past.

Google failed me trying to figure this out and my local dealer even said, "I'll have to get back to you on that". So I hope this bit of info spares someone a bit of time.

I had this problem! Kept blowing fuses but I found a penny down in the socket.
