I wanted a white gas cap to replace the chrome one on my 2006 MCS and Agro offered me his from his 2003 to have powdercoated and then give him my original one in return once it's removed.
Problem is when I got the cap back, it wouldn't fit on my 2006. Seems mine has notches to allow it to "lock" into the hinged part (end farthest from the car when open) and his does not.
I suppose it's possible that the powder coat covered or filled-in the notches but it really doesn't appear so. I suspect I can use a Dremel to cut the notches but I'm concerned then that my 2006 cap won't fit on Agro's 2003. I doubt it, but not having seen the hinges side by side I can't be sure.
Any 2003 owner want a white gas cap willing to send me there chrome one in trade? Would prefer someone to help me absorb part of the powdercoat cost (cuz I'll have to do another one...)....
