One would think that with all the horror stories of bad customer service everone would get a clue. Evidently not. When last we left our hero, I had purchased (or so I thought) a Blk/Blk Cooper S for delivery in September. I checked back a couple of times during the week on the order. All the info I could get was "they kind of put them in a group and when they get enough they'll be put through (or something like that). I pointed out that I had placed a not inconsiderable amount on deposit and expected that the order could at least be placed by this Friday. So, I checked back again and found out that IT STILL HADN'T BEEN ORDERED!!!!! (sorry...I'm back in control now)

So, I did all I could do. I canceled the order and, after checking with some other dealers, placed the same order with another dealer in the same town (heh, heh, heh). So I should have my purchase number on Monday...we shall see.

I wonder how long it will take to get my deposit back.................

Long live the Dark Avenger

I placed my order in November 02 and was told that I would have it in February or March. Now, I was excited about the car, but don't have time to bother the dealer. So, mid-March I call and find out that they somehow overlooked placing the order! I would normally throw a temper tantrum and make demands, but I was tired and worn out from my schedule. I considered buying a Subaru WRX or purchasing a MCS elsewhere, but inertia got the better of me and they did place my order and it arrived in May. It actually worked out in my favor financially, but my experience with my dealer hasn't been a good one, saleswise. Unfortunately, I have read bad things about the service department at my dealer on this site. What to do, what to do.

Best of luck, and I'm glad you took your money elsewhere!

If you have 2 dealers in your city you are lucky. and yes, I totally agree with taking that sales commission to a different dealer.

Plus, give a call to MINI customer service 'cause this is the kind of stuff they want to know about and fix!
