Road Trip: Canton Classic Car Museum 3/18/07

Sunday, March 18, 2007
Registration Deadline: March 15, 2007, 12:00pm (Form)

Marmota monax be damned. We are officially declaring March 18 as Avenge Punxsutawney Phil Day. The plan is for all of us to gather our MINIs in the Robinson Township Giant Eagle parking lot at 9:30 AM. If the MINIs fail to see their shadows because the weather is cloudy, we are road-tripping to the Classic Car Museum in Canton, Ohio. If our MINIs see their shadows because the weather is bright and clear, Kaye & Jim Dowdy are dropping their MINI top and leading us on the road trip to the Classic Car Museum!

EVENT AGENDA
  • 9:30am - Meet in Giant Eagle parking lot in Robinson Twp. (Coffee and donuts provided.)
  • 10:00am - Depart on Road Trip. (It would be a good idea to bring a 2-way radio set to Channel 7 Sub-Channel 21.)
  • 1:00pm - Guided tour of the Canton Classic Car Museum.
  • 3:15pm - Dinner at Lindsey’s Restaurant. (Lindsey's will be open just for us. The food is all home-cooked and will include: salad, pot roast, chicken, potatoes veggie, pasta, non-alcoholic drinks and pie for dessert.
  • Monthly $100 cash prize drawing.
  • A random drawing will award one $20 gas card to a lucky MINI participant.
  • A 50-50 drawing will held at after dinner.
  • Other prize give-aways.
REGISTRATION (visit www.pittstopmini.org)

Cost per person: Members = $15 ; Non-members = $20; Children 12 and under = $10.
(Includes admission to the museum, the guided tour and dinner.)

Deadline: 12:00pm (noon) March 15, 2007

I'll be there, along with a new member and his R56! Since we both live on the OTHER side of Canton, we will just meet you guys there at the museum!

See everyone on Sunday!

Jason

Cool! Registrations were coming in slow for a while, but they started picking up this week.

Unfortunately it looks like it will be colder again by Sunday - but hopefully clear!

Heard about the earthquakes, some people here said they felt it. It was five miles east of twinsburg, ohio.

I am going to have to meet you guys there, plus i need to pay my memebership dues.

Going to the St. Paddys day parade the day before (downtown pittsburgh).

I have been to many car museums(Las vegas and so on), but for some reason never to this one.

See you there jason and your friends new ride!

Your club should go to the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles, September 16, in Canton, too. It's a Concours showing of cars like those at Pebble Beach, CA, and Amelia Island, FL, and it is close by.

While that does sound interesting and enticing, this year's calendar is already quite full! If anything, it will have to be a "grassroots" event.

It is held EVERY year at the same time or year, at the Glenmoor Country Club [a Jack Nicklaus course], with a gated community surrounding it. The show each year has a different theme.
