RMW tuning by Jan, anyone here have it done, where'd you go?

Has anyone around had RMW tuning done on their car? If so, where did you end up going to get it done?

Tim

How about on a JCW?

I seen it stated on NAM that Jan's tune on a R53 JCW is worth while but I'm always interested in hearing more opinions. I'd road trip for this if it's within a day's drive.

The tune is very much worth it. best bang for the buck for any tuning out there. we are going to have him back the D-town this spring/summer. we are working on getting a dyno as we speak. we are looking at June right now with the workload we have coming, the dragon in April and our spring clean up party near the end of may. i have a few cars that will need heads just before so they can get tuned. jut plan your car out now and make sure you have everything you want (that will mater for A/F) and be ready to go!

Thanks for all of the replies. Hopefully I'll be ready and in town by June. Will be in FL from the 5-15th (give or take a few days). A trip to Detroit isn't bad from Pittsburgh. I'll keep my eye open for the date if you guys work something out.

Thanks,

Tim

Since he's going to be in the east, could he come down to Helix right after Rochester?

Went to the tuning day in Carlisle, PA last year. Still some of the best money ever spent on the car!

I recommend going if you can. Jan answered all of my questions about the tune and show me how and why he was doing what he was doing. It was amazing.

Just curious, but does anyone know if Jan can also turn features on and off for your Mini while he tunes it? You know, stuff like automatically unlocking the doors when you turn the ignition off, and auto-up for the windows, etc.

No worries. I'll ask him at the event. If not, I'll stop at the dealership on my way home from Philly.

Update for those interested:
I had my R53 tuned at the Helix/RMW tuning event in Philly last weekend. I'm very pleased with the results. I had Helix install a bunch of parts (pulley, CAI, plugs, injectors, etc.) and had Jan tune it.

I walked away with +45 whp and +32 wtq from my stock configuration. In my opinion, that's awesome. The car is a whole new vehicle. The power is on tap and delivered smooth. I would recommend the same to any R53 owner.

What was your total bill for walking away with that many goodies and 45 extra horsepower? Seems like a steal for that much hp!
