Spokane Minis?

Spokane Minis?
Anyone own a Mini in the Spokane area? I am USAF returning from overseas with my '04 MCS and was wondering what it will be like to own a Mini in the area. I am worried about getting warranty service done, as to my knowledge, the nearest dealer is in Tacoma!!! I'm afraid that I may have to trade my beloved S in for a GTI or Mazdaspeed 3 . Are there any shops in the Spokane area that specialize in Minis or that can provide warranty service? I've spoken with BMW of Spokane and they won't touch the car. It kind of irks me that Mini's dealership/service network in the States is so thin givin the popularity of these cars.

You're right about the lack of dealers to service the MINI, especially in the NW. I'm in Yakima and I get my service done in either Tacoma or Portland, depending on what I want to do while I wait. There is a MINI owners group in Spokane, the moderator's email address is: monoplus@icehouse.net .

Maybe they can give you some more help in the Spokane area.

Another (soon) Spokane Mini
I just ordered an 07 MCS DS/W. Can hardly wait for it to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Would love to know what local Spokane Mini owners do for service; Seattle or Portland, or any local Mini experts mechanics. I have seen a Silver Coupe and a Pepper White Convertible in Liberty Lake the past few days. If I get the chance I will try to stop them to see what they do for service.

Coming to this thread a tad late, but I have some info on getting repairs for Spokane owners. C&H Foreign Auto works on MINIs, as does AutoHaus, but they do not do warranty service. Also, the BMW dealers here will not touch MINIs. They are not authorized to do so and, from what I was told, it sounds like Camp BMW would really like to work on MINIs but simply can't get the approval to do so.
That's what I've got so far. If I come up with anything else, I'll post it here.

Got some more info on the warranty issue. No one but a MINI dealer is authorized to do warranty work on your MINI. This is according to MINI. There is no one in the Spokane area authorized to do warranty service on MINIs. The closest authorized service center is Northwest MINI in Fife.
In terms of convenience, this sucks, but as I was told at the InlandNWMINI meet up this weekend, "we bought road cars." The 3yr/36k mile warranty does include BMW roadside assistance, which means a tow to Northwest MINI if your MINI needs warranty service and cannot be driven there safely by you. So if you bought new, and you're still in warranty, you're good to go.
Motor on :-)

I love my Mini and was very concerned about buying it here in Spokane, then having all warranty work in Tacoma. I am thankful during my 4 year warranty period, I have never had problems. I took my car to Tacoma every year for annual check-up. I am hoping there is someone here in Spokane, I will find work on my car if it has any problems. Does anyone have a mechanic here, that I can take my Mini Cooper to, if it needs work in the future??

Yes, European Autohaus is the place to go. They know what they’re doing, they have parts in stock and are cheaper in my experience than other places I called. They replaced my driver’s side window motor a few weeks ago and I was very happy with the service.

And do come to an Inland Northwest MINI Club meeting and see what it’s like. Lots of knowledgeable MINI enthusiasts there.

New Mini member here! Just picked mine up a couple weeks ago. Glad I found this thread and the link to the InlandNWMinis site as there is a meeting tomorrow which I am going to try and attend.
I have lots of questions for anyone willing to answer and that is knowledgeable about these little things.

I see there hasn't been much activity on this thread recently, but I'll give 'er a shot:
Recently purchased my 06 MCS and am now in need of a reputable shop to take it to for basic mantenance. As far as the Spokane Valley area goes, is anyone able to make a testimony either pro or con any shops? I've found Botzons and EuroPro? Any others that I'm missing that aren't wayyyy up north? Any insights into who to trust?

I just relocated to Spokane from LA CA and it seems I now am stuck with a leased 2013 coupe that must go to Seattle for service each and every time the light comes on for routine stuff? Wow! Given this is my 6th mini over 10 years I am so disappointed in this fact. Who has time for that? If anyone knows of any other solution for servicing my leased '13 coupe, please share. Otherwise it seems I will have to put my car in the garage, all winter, maybe i can get out to Seattle in spring time..But certainly will never lease another or buy another ever. Sigh...
My thanks to anyone who can help and just for reading this as clearly I needed to vent.

Iwill try Silver Star. And I agree, there seems to be a few if not several shops that will work on minis..however, not under warranty for leased vehicles as mine is unfortunately. I did google this, and only come up with only dealerships are qualified to do the leased warranty work? per miniusa. Fingers crossed I find someone, and hopefully if silver star cant help, maybe they, just as you have, can direct me to someone who can. You have no idea how much I appreciate you responding, really. I love my mini. Im just not loving that I opted to lease this time, and had to move unexpectedly. Again thanks for the info.
