there is a gentleman registered from Bandon, OR coming to MitM MINIs in the Mountains 2006.
Our event is scheduled for August 10-13 2006 at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado. All information is posted in our Forums. Check the top left corner of NAM when you log in, click there, all of our information is posted.
you are OK on the logistics. Feel free to stay with friends or relatives if need be. And yes, Copper is VERY busy this time of year, peaking on Labor Day weekend. There will be LOTS of other members of the public, so 150 or so MINIs will be very high profile.
Regardless of where you stay, you will not want to miss our organized dinners on both Friday and Saturday night. Ralph Schomp MINI hosts our Friday dinner. We have speakers, guests, giveaways and raffles, plus pictures and other fun.
Our vendors host the Saturday dinner, and there are even more giveaways, fun, freebies, and more fun. Again, not to be missed - both are preceded by cocktail hours which is our way of talking about our rides, our days, and what to do tomorrow. Come meet new friends.
Be sure that whereever you stay, you can get back to Copper early in the AM for our rides. Rides leave beginning at 7 am... from the parking structure. Also, be sure to register for the event so you have our program with logistics, information, contacts, ride sheets, etc. Without this, you will be lost.
Feel free to use our thread here to look for lodging partners. There may be pp who are willing to share the cost and a room they have booked.
The closest towns for lodging are Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne to the East. The Best Western Dillon has a rack rate this weekend of $85. Vail is 20 miles to the west, rates there are stratospheric of course.
