I haven't seen anything posted on this topic, so I'll throw out some info.

For anyone interested in vintage racing Minis, the Mini Cooper will be featured by the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association at the Zippo Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, New York on September 5-8, 2002. The focal point of this event will be the Mini Clash, a special race for Mini cars & Mini powered specials (the original Mini, that is!) The Mini Clash is scheduled for Sunday afternoon with 7 sprint races.

I've been to this track many times; it's one of the most historic and interesting road courses in the country. The Sirius Satellite Radio At The Glen NASCAR Winston Cup race is scheduled for Sunday, August 11; watch the race and you'll see what I mean about the track!

This is a great opportunity to see some of the best vintage Minis still racing in the U.S. Check out the SVRA press release at:

http://www.svra.com/releases/062602.htm

for more information. If you live in or near Western New York, a Sunday drive to Watkins Glen on September 8th would help you break in your new MINI!

For ticket information, visit http://www.theglen.com/

By the way, I don't work for the track...I'm just hoping to see some more new MINIs there in case some of the drivers of the vintage Minis start getting a little rowdy!
