Help... anti-static cling for clothing

I travel quite often and tried out some new slacks with some nylon content which prevents wrinkling... it's great for business trips! but after washing
it, it has SUPER STATIC CLING.

I know there are anti-static sprays for clothing...which one do you use?
im looking for one that doesn't have that funky vinegar-kinda scent.

thank you.

It's been so long since I have used these products. Seems like I remember one called Static Guard, it worked but had the funky smell. All of the anti-static products I have ever used have smelled funky but it's been a long time so maybe they have improved them. A good temporary fix is to spray a fine mist of water on the article of clothing (but the static usually comes back in a bit )

thanks. yeh, the overdose on softener does help, but then i softens the fabric too much, it seems. (side effect). my wife got me some from a
Japanese grocery store (mitsuwa) so will give it a shot tonight. it smells
pretty good... almost like starch for ironing....

I was actually considering posting this exact same question here a few weeks ago. Let us know how it goes, Ken!

chrisneal-
the one she got is called "Eleguard" but in the Japanese katakana font
that looks like this: エレガード It's in a small white bottle (2oz?) with a
light pink cap.

she also got me the regular STATIC GUARD just in case...it doesn't
stink as bad as i remember. maybe they changed the formula a little
bit.

both seem to work just as good. the Eleguard smells better though.

nekowoman- which Mitsuwa did you go to? The NJ one? I went there
one time during a biz trip to NY. the Chicago one is about the same size
as the NJ one. looks like they lost 2 tenants though....kind of a ghost
shopping plaza inside.

I don't think that the Downy Wrinkle release has a bad scent but its been a while since I've used it. When I'm packing to travel, I tend to layer some fabric softener sheets between my clothes and I've notived that it helps reduce the amount of static and it keeps your clothes smelling like they just came out of the dryer

You can also just rub a fabric softener sheet (in the scent of your choosing) over the offending article of clothing . . .

Yeah I use Static Guard...it works okay and smells like starch, pretty much. The Downy Wrinkle Release stuff smells good (like Downy) and works well on wrinkles but I don't know if it works on static.

Sometimes just a light mist of water after you get dressed helps too. Depends on how bad the static is.

Get a small piece of copper wire.

Attach it somewhere under the car so that it will hang down and make contact with the ground when stopped.

No more shocks once your car is grounded.

Or roll around in a snowbank. That will work for the cling and the door shocks. Well......I'm not sure it will work, but I think it will.

thank you.

Well now, that's something that I haven't had to deal with since Mum forced me to go to Sunday School....but in the winter when the static cling was at it's worst, we used a light spritz of hair spray or the leave in hair conditioner spray on the skirt or slacks ...Make sure it is not a hair glosser or de-frizzer because those products contain oils and silcones which can permanently stain your clothing. Don't use it on anything that is fuzzy because it can cause the material to getty nappy... Good luck Mick
