In October, I'm riding in a bike ride down the coast in an effort to raise the most money I can for Multiple Sclerosis research. My father has been diagnosed with M.S. for most of his life, so this cause is really close to my heart, and I'm really excited about riding for him.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has been putting these rides on all across the country with great success, and I'm really privileged to finally be able to ride.
Anyway, if you guys feel like you have the desire to sponsor me, I would be very grateful. My official goal is only $1500, but I'm really shooting for as much as I can get.
Anyway, obviously there's no pressure, and all the donations are anonymous. I won't know who's who, so no worries!
Why don't you connect with OctaneGuy of c3 (I am also of c3) to see if we can figure out a way to help support your cause? I'm out of state until next week, but I would like to help you!
PM me with any additional info you may have....
Well, I'm finding a lot harder to find donations than I originally thought it would be.
Anyone have any tips?
Hang in there, send reminders to everyone on your list, try some 'games'.
I did a fundraising for Cancer research for Ironman Arizona this year. I was hoping to get $2000, and managed $1250 and Janus Funds added $750 in matching funds. Since then I received a fundraising mailer from one of the 'professional' fundraisers, one of those people who manage to raise $20,000+. They had a detailed letter explaining what they were doing, why and where the money goes - all very upbeat. It even included a prepaid return envelope. They also had a website with lots of pictures and stories.
Your posting here had more info than your web page for the fundraising. How much can you put on that page? Can you explain about your father? Also, put a link to your fundraising page in your sig, and even in your email sig.
Craig (MiniCD) has several good points. You will gather more support if people can relate to your personal story and feelings of devotion to your dad and his situation. I like the link in the sigline idea, too. Great idea!
Let's Support Kilo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NAM,Kilo snag JJ into doing this, then JJ persueded Me in doing the ride,in which my next door buddy ,Oscar is Now signed up.
JJ and I have met our goal, but still taking donations.
But this is about Kilo and his Dad and Kilo's urge to do something about M S.
His urge is real bad because He set up his goal at $1500. And if he doesn't make it,he has to make up the difference. JordanJanine and I set up our goals at $350 "cause we don't know what we're doing!!
Let's Help push Kilo over the top like the generous peeps in SCMM helped push JJ and I over the top..
All you have to do is click KILO'S link.Enter any amout you want to donate.Click again to fill out Credit Card Info. Then put your name on the scrolling HONOR Roll. If you don't have a cc,then send Kilo a check in his name..
Kilo,do you have an address you can give out to all these good peeps of NAM???? SPIKER THE BIKER !
I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who donated to Mikey, JJ, and myself for this ride. I'm getting close to my personal fundraising goal, and JJ and Mikey have far surpassed theirs. Further, we have also surpassed our team goal.
We're all riding for the same cause, and I'm overwhelmed by the support the MINI community has given. You guys and others have given more collectively than my own family!!
Thank you!!!!!
P.S. I still need to hit my personal goal by October 1st, so if you guys feel led to donate, then it's fine by me!
