Awesome formatting. Updating the Wii is simple, make sure there is a wireless internet connection it can connect to then go into the system settings. Somewhere in there is the ability to download and update the firmware.
ha ha
THANKS
obviously something happened that I am not privy too or
understand.
I'm not keen on doing too much to the wii except playing it.
Wireless connections to the blah blah probably won't work out.
Unless it has a wireless built in. I'm not trying to sound the arse here.
I have a limited budget and about 10000000000 open projects right now.
I do have a wireless internet for the home computer but the wii is
not connected to it.
I was more looking for plug and play thing on this one.

Wii does, in fact, have wireless :-) It can connect to the same wifi network your computer is using. Then it can install any updates that Nintendo pushes out.
Nintendo isn't too bad about the updates. Sony and the PS3 on the other hand ... sometimes I want to fly to Japan and strangle someone. It's constantly making me download HUGE updates from the SLOW sony servers when I want to play games online. Why they can't just, say, download them in the background ahead of time, I don't understand. Microsoft Windows gets it, Mac gets it, you'd think a simple consumer company would get it!
end of rant. :-)
Here is a video of how to set up wireless on your Wii:
