Just watched the Space Shuttle Atlantis streak across the sky....with the International Space Station
hot on it heels (about 10 degrees behind it). Takes a few minutes to cross the sky.
They'll be close to each other for another day or two (until Friday evening).
You can see when they'll be going by in your neck of the woods at Welcome to Heavens-Above! by putting in your country and city name or coordinates
or at Human Space Flight (HSF) - Realtime Data
look at sighting opportunities and put in your country, state, city.
I've often seen the ISS and Iridium Satellites by knowing when and where to look.
Also used to watch Mir go by until it de-orbited a few years ago.

Reason: mixed up the order of the satellites
I just saw it too in Illinois! I was about to give up and then there it was. I was laying in the back of the pickup and I watched as they went to the horizon. They were way further apart than I thought they would be but it was clearly them.
My sighting was last night at about 9:20 pm edt.
You probably saw this pass (assuming you're in Chicago) - about 12 degrees higher than mine was.
20 Jun mag -0.8 start 21:52:05 10 deg WNW mid 21:54:50 46 deg SW end 21:56:03 27 deg SSE.
I read online that they had separated about 10:30 yesterday am.
I think the SS is landing today, weather permitting, so that would
kill another sighting tonight.
Thanks for the links cristo. I'm in Lancaster County. I'll be looking skyward tonight. It's a bit cloudy here now but very windy. Hopefully I'll get a peek at the space station as it goes by.

Early this afternoon, two loud Sonic BOOMS shook the building I work in. I switched from SPEED (Infineon practice) to the NASA channel when it happened.
A perfect landing at Edwards Air Force Base. Welcome home, Atlantis!!
I think tonight will be a good night for me to see the ISS in orbit. Last night was too cloudy but it's clear as can be now.
