So glad I passed on the car guy genes!

My oldest son just finished his sophomore year at college with all As, so I rewarded him with official ownership of my old ride, a 2006 Mazda MX5 Miata.

It is in good hands, he's a certified car nut!

Yeah, and he knows it, and admits it. He originally got my 2003 Civic Si, full Mugen suspension, short shift kit, intake, etc. That has now been passed on to his younger brother.

I miss top down motoring, and the new Miata has my eye, but I'm MINI addicted too, so we'll see what happens.

I haven't been without at least one Miata for 20 years, but I did suffer through almost 10 years w/o a MINI and that sucked

I love my MINI, have only had it since January. My first. I miss the RWD power delivery and handling though. I can dial out most of the understeer in the MINI, and will, but the torque steer, especially on uneven pavement... sucks.

Different experiences. Both loads of fun. I do have a two-car garage.

Very lucky! My brother has an NA Miata that he got while currently in college. An older gentlemen traded it into the dealership with 30k original miles on it! He got it for a steal of a deal and is looking to now do autox with it. The MX-5 is a great vehicle.

Is that a stock photo, or the car you gave him? If that's what you gave him, it looks real good for being nine years old. Good job on keeping it up.

It's the car I gave him. One owner car. 2006 Miata Sport, with just over 120k miles on it. Mazdaspeed coilovers, Mazdaspeed exhaust, and a few other minor mods. It's a well maintained daily driver that looks good for it's age, but it's no show queen. He's good with a camera, and that helps.

Here are a few more...

I am a good student and am available for adoption. What other cars do you have hanging around?

LOL! Well, my youngest is graduating HS this year. He's ninth in his class. He enjoys driving my older car, a 2003 Honda Civic Si, with Mugen sport suspension, Hotchkiss sway bars, custom wheels, short shift kit, and some minor under-hood mods... They've both earned what I've provided over the years, and they know that the trickle down effect ends after college graduation.
