Is anyone here from the South Bay going to the Phil
Wicks driving school at Laguna Seca on Dec 14th?
If so, is there any interest in meeting up somewhere
on Wednesday morning and caravaning down to Laguna
Seca together?
I'm in Santa Cruz and heading down Wed. morning...

Looks like 3 out of 4 of us are from Santa Cruz and it appears that all of us are heading down early Wednesday morning. Maybe we can talk Wonderdrug into driving over the hill to Santa Cruz and starting the caravan from there.
I'm planning on leaving the area at 6am. Where in Santa Cruz do you all want to meet?
Okay, it looks as if we have some interest. Great!
We South Bay folks and meet up somewhere around
17 and 85 early Wednesday morning. I'll scope the
area to see if I can find a easy meeting place (anyone
have any suggestions?)
From there, we can take 17 (or some backroads if
time permits) to Santa Cruz to meet up with the Santa
Cruz folks. We can head down to Laguna Seca together.
There's a Safeway off Morrissey (1st exit on Hwy1) that is about 1/4-1/2 mile off the freeway. Otherwise there are convenient spots off the Soquel and 41st exits as well. I'll cruise by and confirm a good spot and report back.
Here's hoping for no precipitation...

you guys going to be getting lunch? I'm not going to the class, but I live right near Laguna Seca. and I'd LOVE some time off of studying [that week is finals] and some time to relax.
if you've not planned that far ahead, tis fine. I'll live.

Are you kidding? For three hundred bones, they'll be serving us a feast. Or at least a sandwich.

The last update from Phil Wick's states that the on site consessions will not be open, however you can purchase a lunch ticket for $20. Seems to be a bit steep....you could always find a Subway or a deli on the way in and throw it in your ice chest. According to the schedule, lunch for everyone starts at 10:40 and the participants will be at a designated time based on what group you are in. Parade laps start at noon for those who purchased a ticket + participants as well. The full blow race at 2pm and the track closes at 4:30. I will be in the novice class, but am hoping to be upgraded to intermediate by daze end. Also, wife's/husbands/girlfriends....etc., can attend the classroom part with you, even if they have not paid for the on track instruction. Just have to pay the $10 entry fee (or $25/car load) when you come through the gate.
Partly cloudy and 60*............Purrrrrfect.
