Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts 2009 Santa Cruz Mountain Run
Date: April 25, 2009
Starting location: The Texaco Station (Rancho Shopping Center) Los Altos, CA
Time: Clutches out at 9:00 am, so be there by 8:30 am with a full tank of gas, empty bladder, FRS/GMRS radios, charged and set of channel 7, sub channel 21, your cell phone, and a printed copy of the route map which can be downloaded at:
This run was planned by Al & Dot Gordon and Pat Kaye. The run will take us through the Santa Cruz Mountains and along SR-1 on the Pacific Coast. We will be taking some of our old favorite roads, along with some new twists. The length of the run will be approximately 120 miles and take about 4 hrs. 20 minutes.
Route includes Page Mill Rd, Pescadero Rd, Pescadero Creek Rd., SR-1, and Bonny Doon Rd., going through La Honda, Felton, Boulder Creek, Big Basin Redwood State Park, and ending with lunch at the Mountain House in Redwood City at 1:15 pm.
Update! Update !!!!
Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts will be hosting this years Santa Cruz Mountain run on Saturday, April 25, 2009. The run will start at 10:00 am (NOT 9:00 am as listed). Also the starting spot will be the 76 Gas Station (NOT a Chevron ot Texaco) but same address.
Al & Dot Gordon have planned this run along with some BIG help from Pat Kaye. Looks like we will have a lot of new twists on this run and many of our old favorites.
We will end the run with lunch at the Mountain House in Redwood City at 2-2:30 pm. They will be setting up lunch "exclusively" for us if we get 32 or more for lunch, So please sign up on the REME website RSVP calendar so we can keep track of the head count.
This will give us "die-hards" enough time to head for Chico after the run to make the Chico British Car Show on Sunday, April 26.
Speaking of Car Shows!!!! Don't forget to register for the REME Wine Country British & European Car Show we are hosting for August 23, 2009. There is a special webpage devoted to this event.
Please help support the efforts of our members who have taken time to plan and set up these runs and events by signing up early so we know how many to plan for.
Happy Easter to you all... and keep the rubber side down.

We have 654 Fremont Ave, Los Altos, CA for the Starbuck's in the same shopping center (Rancho Shopping Center) so it would be the 76 gas station nearby.

I would like to join you good folks for this run. I was not able to rsvp for lunch via the instructions above. Can I rsvp via this email? In any case I would love to do the drive and will deal with lunch otherwise if need be.
Hey, I'm very interested in attending this meet. I was wondering what the estimated turn out will be. I have not been able to access the calender thingy on the other website. (I'll be in a mini......not an eclipse!)
See you mini-drivers soon!

Reason: My sig isnt showing up, so I'm editing to "refresh", but not editing content.
Oreo and I would love to make it also, couldn't find out how to RSVP on the website given
To RSVP on the REME MegaBBS you have to first register on the forum. Then click on the event on the bottom of the page that you are interested in attending. It will take you about 30 seconds after you register on the forum.
You should also consider joining Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts. It costs nothing to be a member but more forums on the BBS are open to the membership and many vendors give members discounts on parts and service. It's a win-win to join... no cost, lots of fun, and discounts....
FYI,
We have participants at all levels of driving capabilities and ages and generally have multiple groups when the number of participating cars exceed 20. The slower more cautious drivers generally stay near the rear of the pack. Good news is that all of our runs have downloadable route maps from our website, so everyone should know where they are going and should not get lost. There is also an archive of every major run we have done since January, 2005.
Additionally our runs tend to be long... 130-170 miles. Having run maps before the runs enable participants to modify the route to suite their driving stamina. If you leave the group early just let everyone know by radio so we don't send a search party out looking for you at the next scheduled stop.
