Spotted: 880N Blue R56 modded, i was in a yellow MR2

Hello there, i saw this Blue R56 with black stripes, modded exhaust, wheels, intake, bov? alta sticker on rear qtr glass, i was in my yellow veilside widebody mr2 spyder, i gave you a thumb up and i yelled out that i have a R56 as well..

anyways, i don't know where to find you and thought this place would be a good try, if you are on here...

i just wonder if you are interested in a photoshoot, as i need more pics in my portfolio, i am not charging anything, just want to shoot a nicely modded mini..

or if anyone else here with a nicely modded mini, i'd like to meet you, and shoot your car, i don't see much modded R56 here...

There's a MY R56 MCS at the Spartan student parking lot near the Spartan Stadium in San Jose. I regularly pass by the area to pick up my wife from work and see this modified MCS alot. I think its mostly JCW stuff like the aero kit and wings but the mellow yellow color along with his black rims with yellow painted lip looks really striking. Might look really good in a photo op next to your MR2. He usually leaves before 5:30 pm, I think. And he likes to park right near the street side of the parking lot which really attracts attention so he's hard to miss. If you're ever in the area, might want to leave him a card or something although I'm sure you'll find more modified r56's here eventually for your shoots.

sounds good, thanks for the heads up, and good idea!

i see that you have the JCW exhaust, how does that sound? i see on youtube that they sound very nice, and i asked my wife to record a video from a jcw that was at the dealership when she went for tune up, it didn't sound like the one on youtube, i like that poping sound from the exhaust. and also wonder how much it cost

I like the JCW exhaust, but you're right in that it doesn't sound like the JCW exhaust from the Factory JCW car. Not sure if I remember right, but I do believe that they are two different exhaust. In addition, I think I remember that the popping/burbling sound from the factory JCW is actually a result of the ECU tune for that car wasting a tiny bit of gas to make that sound. Not sure on that though cause I might be confusing that with the past R53 car. Either way, buying the JCW exhaust to add on to your R56 won't produce the same sound as the factory car. It still is a nice sound though and more suited to my ears as it has a deeper sound than the stock one. I've been using up more gas the past week just because that sound makes me wanna press on the gas a bit more. Next up for me will be the JCW aero kit or suspension. If you're ever in the San Jose area, you should come up with me up Highway 130 to Mt Hamilton. I live at the base of Alum Rock so I go up there very early in the morning on the weekends just to take the edge outta driving too fast on the weekdays. I like the low speed/tight turns on that road. Really feels like where the MINI is right at home. Plus, the top of Mt Hammy might give you some nice photo ops if its not too cloudy/foggy.

thanks for the info on the exhaust, however i am not too much into hill climbs or what japanese people call "touge", kinda too risky/dangerous to me, i do auto cross in my other mr2 and hoping to do some autocross in the spyder, wife don't let me use the mini lol

Lol. Don't get the wrong impression and think that I'm driving up Mt Hammy like it was a touge run. I'm way, way too unskilled for that. Plus people do die up there for doing stupid things. I don't cross DYs, my speed isn't excessive but just a bit faster than posted limits, and I don't squeel my tires at every corner. In other words, I go up Mt Ham just for the fun of turning corners at above normal speeds but not at the young/full of testosterone/ I can't die types of speeds. My best analogy would be its kinda like driving autocross on hills, but at a leisurely speed.
