Haven't posted in a while (since I sold my MCS), but saw this in yesterday's SJ Mercury:

Q Every weekday at 7:30 a.m. I take Highway 85 north to Highway 237 and exit at Fair Oaks Avenue. During this short commute, I frequently see a black Mini Cooper going well over the speed limit, weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, jumping in and out of the carpool lane even though he is alone in the car. I have seen many idiots on the road, but this guy scares me. Is there anything one can do to have a police car hang around the 85-237 interchange about 7:30 a.m. to catch this guy?

A Sure is. Call 1-800-Tell-CHP. There's little the Highway Patrol can do for the occasional bad driver, but if someone is out there every day pulling stunts like this, at the same place every day, it's a different story. The CHP can alert beat officers if you can describe the time and where you see this driver, as well as the color and make of the car. You also provided the license plate number of the Mini Cooper, which I won't print, but police can use it.
I'd suspect that the MINI has personalized plates since the author was able to remember it. Although if it happens every day, they may have written it down. Either way, you better slow down.
Lol, yeah, just read that same letter to Mr Roadshow today, too, and thought about posting a warning to whomever owns that black Mini Cooper. We don't even know if that person checks NAM, but can't say we didn't try.

I doubt it would have any effect. This kind of behavior is self-limiting. It's just a matter of time before he wrecks. Let's just hope he doesn't take anyone else along with him.
